Welcome to The Railway at Leyland
The Railway Hotel was built in the 1830’s mainly for the benefit of the workforce constructing the new Preston to Wigan railway line.
It was originally named The Railway Bridge Hotel, but by 1866 it had changed its name to The Railway Hotel.
The pub has a long catering tradition. In 1895 the food to celebrate the consecration of St. Ambrose Church was supplied by The Railway at a cost of 3/- per head.
The refurbished Railway is carrying on this tradition for fine freshly produced food. Wherever possible all our produce will be sourced locally, helping to support local suppliers and producers.
